FAQ
What is Family First Aid?
Family First Aid is a first aid service that comes to you! Its programs are first aid courses specifically designed for parents, carers, babysitters and teachers
What makes the Children’s First Aid course unique and outstanding?
Our kids first aid course is designed and presented by Emergency room doctors and front line paramedics. No other company offers such a service! The simple knowledge that it provides will make a difference to your child's health in an emergency.
What are the benefits of attending a Family First Aid course?
A lot of parents, carers, teachers and babysitters do not have the knowledge, or confidence, to provide adequate first aid in an emergency situation. Family First Aid has created a course that will provide this knowledge and confidence in an informative and easy to understand 3 hour workshop. The benefit just may be saving your child's life!
How can I register for a course?
Contact us, either by phone or email and we will arrange for you to attend a course, or we will bring the course to you!
What do I have to bring to the course?
Just bring yourself! We will provide all that is needed for you to gain the first aid knowledge and confidence you need.
Can I bring my children to the course?
We encourage you to bring your children, particularly older ones. This can be a worthwhile experience for them as well! We will provide a babysitter, free of charge, at the course if you do not want to be distracted by your child.
Does Family First Aid do Fundraising?
YES! We find this a very popular way for courses to be run, and many organisations have raised much needed funds by organising a fundraising course with us. Call us and find out how!
Can I get a First Aid Certificate through Family First Aid?
Yes you can. We offer a range of Certified Courses that cover the requirements for Child Care workers, CPR certification through to Senior First Aid (apply first aid). If you wish to receive a recognised First Aid Certificate we can run the course for you.
How many participants are their in your Family First Aid courses?
We limit the number of participants to 15, this allows for more participation and personal feedback. There is no minimum number, although we do find that groups of 5 and above work better.
Who should do a first aid course?
Simply... everyone! All parents, carers, babysitters, teachers should have the knowledge and confidence to help their child in an emergency situation. As we say 'be ready - never sorry'. We strongly recommend that every one involved with children enroll in our First Aid Courses designed specifically for parents and carers.
Which Family First Aid Course is the best for me?
This is entirely up to you. If you required a recognised Senior First Aid certificate, then enroll in our certified first aid course. If you require first aid guidance for kids, than enroll in our Children's First Aid course, If you need to learn CPR, we also have a CPR course. We also offer a 'house safe' course to make your home as safe as possible for your child. We have the course, let us know what your needs are, and will will enroll you in the correct first aid course
What is the Home Safe course?
The Home Safe course is designed to make your home safe, and create a safe environment for your child to live. We look at possible accident areas, and look at ways to overcome these. We will also do a house visit, and work with you to identify risk areas and help you address these. There are many simple ways to reduce accidents at home, so why not stop the accident before it happens!
How do I arrange a Home Safe accident prevention visit?
You just call or email us and we will arrange a time suitable for you to.
Where are the children’s first aid courses run?
That's the great thing about our first aid courses, we run them anywhere! We can run them in your home, your school or your neighborhood centre. We are very happy to come to you. Alternatively, you can attend an 'open session' run in your area, see the 'when & where' page on our website.
